History Department Jr. and Sr. College, together organised a talk on ‘Global Networks of Food in India’ on Thursday, 5th September 2024 in the college auditorium between 12.00 pm to 1.30 pm.
FYJC, SYJC and FYBA students were the audience for the talk. Food Historian Dr. Mohsina Mukadam, was invited as the guest speaker for the same. How the globalization affected our food culture, how different agencies like sufi saints, soldiers from different countries introduced different food items in India, mediums which brought globalization in food, how Indians accepted and integrated different food items were discussed in length with ppt. The talk was followed by question answer round in which many students participated. The talk ended with Vote of thanks. It was a fruitful talk.
